Pathologist Dr. Eduardo Zambrano joins Medical College faculty at Froedtert Hospital

Eduardo Zambrano, M.D., has been named associate professor of pathology at The Medical College of Wisconsin and director of surgical pathology and of musculoskeletal pathology at Froedtert Hospital, a major teaching affiliate of the College. His expertise is in pediatric pathology as well as disorders of bone and soft tissue.

For the past seven years, Dr. Zambrano was on the faculty of Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and served as director of the pediatric and developmental pathology and the musculoskeletal pathology services the past two years. During that time, he was also an attending pathologist at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn., and Milford Hospital in Milford, Conn.

Dr. Zambrano is board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology and in pediatric pathology. He completed a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2002. Following residency, he was a clinical fellow in pediatric pathology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

In 1996, Dr. Zambrano authored a textbook on molecular biology, and he has also contributed to several textbook chapters on bone and soft tissue tumors. His research on perinatal and pediatric pathology has been published in numerous pathology and laboratory publications, and he has presented his findings at professional meetings throughout the world.

He received his medical degree from Catholic University of Santiago of Guayaquil School of Medicine, Ecuador, in 1992. He received a master of science degree in molecular biology from Free University of Brussels, Belgium, in 1994, and a graduate professional certificate in health care management from the University of New Haven School of Business in 2001.
