PROGRAMS & EVENTS

November 12 – Directors' meeting, noon at Alioto's.

November 17 – Our speaker will be Jason Zuarwik, the principal of Wauwatosa School of Trades.

 

NEWS AND NOTES

 

Meeting notes: The meeting included some veterans' reminiscences. Rick Mosher told us about his 174 trips into Berlin during the Berlin airlift 60 years ago. Happy dollars came in from Tom Anstett for Veterans Day; Gary Krueger for the Berlin airlift, with a thanks to Rick for keeping Gary's relatives warm with the coal Rick flew in and from our speaker Tom Nelson, majority leader in the Assembly. Although his district is in the Fox Valley, his duties as majority leader keep him traveling about 40,000 miles a year. Tom brought us up to date on legislative activities.

 

East side adventure: On November 24 we will take our annual trip to the East Side. Ken Snyder is organizing car pooling. Meet at 11:30 AM at the Watertown Plank Park & Ride lot on the south side of the intersection.

Interclub: Peter Brusky is trying to organize an interclub with Menomonee Falls, which meets Tuesday evenings. Next week's meeting didn't generate enough recruits, but we'll try again.

 

Entertainment: The committee is sponsoring a get together at Sunset Playhouse on Monday evening, December 14. The sign-up sheet started this week. Check your calendars.

 

Fund raising: Now that this year's beer and wine tasting event is past, we are all looking forward to the next fund raiser, which is the pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 7, 2010.

 

Program assignments: November 24 – annual East Side meeting and field trip to Downer Wine & Spirits. December 1 – committee meetings, December 8 – Dr. Phil Ertl.
