"Places Remembered" Unique Watercolors of 1950's Milwaukee
The unique watercolors being shown at Landmarks Gallery, 231 N. 76th St. Milwaukee were done by artist Janet Kimberling. They were produced by Kimberling in the 1950's when she was an illustrator in Milwaukee. These watercolors were never previously shown before and were done as open air studies. Scenes shown include a dramatic view of the Northwestern Railroad Depot with was demolished in May, 1968. Also featured will be scenes of Jones Island with Bulky freighters in the port as well as a view of the old Capitol Drive Bridge and a night scene of Muskego Lake. The artist moved with her husband to New Mexico where she still lives and paints. She also has done many European scenes based on her travels there.
Her watercolors will be exhibited at Landmarks Gallery until the end of June. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 5pm, and Sunday 1pm -5pm. Closed Mondays. For more information please visit the website www.landmarksgallery.com or call us at (414)453-1620.
