Lorene Lisheron, a Wauwatsa resident, is among twelve Mount Mary College art students selected to exhibit their art work in the Lakefront Festival of the Arts held June 19-21 on Milwaukee’s lakefront. The winning pieces were selected by the Collegiate Competition’s jury from 50 submissions representing 10 colleges and universities.
Lorene will have 2 different pieces on exhibit. “Farm Fresh,” is an example of macro photography in which the camera lens zoomed in on the details of the condensation on the eggs to contrast it with the carton’s texture. “Paisley Orb and Reliquary,” the second piece done was done in stoneware ceramics and created using saggar firing, a process that exposes pottery to vaporized minerals during firing that allows colors to be absorbed in random patterns.
Lorene received her M.A. in Education with an art emphasis from Mount Mary College this spring.
