NEWS AND NOTES

Meeting notes: Tom Schultz returned from vacation, apparently having been gone long enough to forget the abuse he suffers when he's home. Lt. Gov. John Curtiss visited us to help with the abuse. Gary Krueger, a great abuser himself, was back from Florida. John informed us that Key Club and Circle K officer successfully met in Waukesha, that a new building dedication ceremony is scheduled at Camp Waubeek on May 9, and that he is collection Yell 'n Tell stories for Jean Davidson, who hopes to speak to the International convention. Happy dollars came in from Dave Eppelsheimer, still happy about the Brewers and the almost-completed remodeling of his house; from Gary Krueger, happy to be back; Jason Gonwa, who had a great time at his children's gymnastic exhibition; Gary Knisbeck, who just finished another good year of leading Junior Achievement classes; Bob Gross, whose doctor approved of Bob's fantasies of being a teenager again, permitting Bob to scuba diving, horse riding, and other Scouting stuff; Tom Anstett, who welcomed Eli to a certain small but prestigious securities firm; John Foley for his time at Hilton Head, where he saw an old college friend; Bob Schmidt, happy and proud about his daughter's scholarship. Our speaker was Warren Breitlow again, telling us about New Zealand, where there are twenty sheep for each person.

Scholarships: Gary Krueger announced the names of scholarship recipients and thanked his committee for helping with applications. The scholarship winners are: Holly Schmidt and Colleen Johnson, of WEHS, who will receive the Warren Carity Key Club Scholarship and the Richard Peeples Memorial Scholarship, and Emily Condon and Holly Asbach, of WWHS, who will receive the Frank Poling Memorial Key Club Scholarship and the Thomas Steiner Memorial Scholarship. The winners and their parents will be attending our lunch on June 16.

Golf #1: Carl Smith is gathering his annual group of golfers. See Carl if you're interest on Monday, June 1.

Post prom: Plan on helping out on May 16. Bob Reinhardt will be back next week with a sign-up sheet.

Program assignments: May 12 – Dan Grunwaldt (promising either Tom Barrett or the Milwaukee German Immersion School). May 19 – Ann Tennyson. May 26 – Larry Schneider.
