Florentine Opera Insights: Julius Caesar

Opera Insights are FREE presentations given by Corliss Phillabaum, Professor of Theater at UW Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts. Opera Insights take a closer look at the upcoming opera performance. Each 45-minute program contains a detailed synopsis, background on the opera and live musical selections preformed by the Florentine Opera Studio Artists. Attendees are treated to arias, duets and small ensembles performed by Florentine Opera Chorus members.

An Empire Rests in the 'Hands of Love' in this New Florentine Opera Production

Behold, as the greatest Roman general who has ever lived falls madly in love with the most beautiful and powerful Queen in the history of ancient Egypt. A war between the great nations of Rome and Egypt is eclipsed by the passion of Caesar and Cleopatra in Handel’s most beloved opera.

Saturday March 8, 12:30 - 1:30, Firefly Room, Wauwatosa Public Library
