GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT ON EARTH DAY

WHO:
Aveda Salon Lumani

WHEN:
Monday, April 22, 2013 // 11:00-8:00 am / pm

WHAT:
Salon Lumani will participate in a global 24-hour cut-a-thon on Earth Day, April 22. Aveda stylists in salons worldwide – from Tokyo, to Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Wauwatosa – will volunteer their time to offer haircuts, hand massages, stress relieving head/neck & shoulder massages & donated baked goods in return for a donation to Earth Month. The aim is to set a Guinness World Record for most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period.

Salon Lumani is a local independently owned business that has been operating since Oct 4, 2011. The salon has been featured on the WISN-A-LIST as one of the top 10 hair salons in Milwaukee for 2012. As well the salon has been recently showcased in the March edition of Behind The Chair magazine for specializing in wedding up-do styles. We are honored to be part of this Cut-A-Thon and believe in needing clean water for everyone, with the help and support of the community we know we can meet or exceed our goal for Earth month!

Salon Lumani has set a fundraising goal of $700.00. This event is part of a global effort by the Aveda network of beauty professionals to raise $5 million for clean water in April 2013. Our local charity Great Lakes will receive 100% of the proceeds from the event.
