NEWS AND NOTES

Meeting notes: We had a guest and potential member at our meeting, Sara Mahalko, a chiropractor whose new office is at 88th and North. Dick Bachmann started happy dollars because he collected $71 dollars from the raffle last week, all of which went toward the North Avenue flag project. John Cable followed with a buck to show how happy he was that his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild moved into the neighborhood, but also because John made it through the Birkebeiner without crashing. Bob Gross was happy about last Sunday's scouting awards dinner, at which the Venturing Crew received the Crew of the Year award for the third time. Gary Knisbeck was happy in anticipation of spending a couple weeks in warmer weather.

Member news: Bob Schmidt reported that he had coffee with Gary Krueger, who expects to be in therapy for a while still.

K Kids: John Cable reported that the Wilson K-Kids have been busy, doing fund raising with their Kandy Grams and running a food drive.

Golf: Time to plan. The event will be June 12.

Distinguished Citizen Award: The banquet will be April 21. This year the award will go to Debbie Dubinski.

Program assignments: March 12? March 19, Mike D'Amore. March 26, Kevin Sjostrom.

Note from the editor: I've lost track of how many years I've been doing newsletters for the Club, but it's time for someone else to take over. The newsletter keeps getting later each week because I'm swamped at the office. If you're interested call me or send an e-mail. You don't have to make it to every meeting, either. I'm certainly willing to help occasionally, just as Tom Schultz and Eli Potkonjak have helped me, sometimes more than occasionally.

Meetings: Tuesday noon, Mayfair Mall Community Room

Newsletter Editor - Kevin Sjostrom p Reporter - Ilija Potkonjak p Newsletter distribution: Tom DeLuca
