Immanuel Lutheran Church to Kick Off 100th Anniversary Year with Organ Dedication Feb. 19

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 13445 Hampton Road in Brookfield, invites the community to their Service of Thanksgiving & Praise to include the dedication of Immanuel's new Allen organ, on Sunday, February 19 at 3:30 p.m. A potluck meal will follow the service. The afternoon service also marks the official start of Immanuel's celebration of its 100th Anniversary year, with various events planned throughout 2012.

The service will include singing of hymns and musical selections from the five seasons of the church year, involving members from Immanuel's adult and school choirs, handbell choir, plus organists/keyboardists. After the service a potluck meal will be held in Immanuel's Field House, featuring chicken, salads and desserts. Coffee and milk will be provided. The featured instrument for this event is Immanuel's new Quantum™ 370 Classical Organ manufactured by the Allen Organ Company, and will be officially dedicated at this service. This fantastic modern organ is a memorial to Jules Bartelt from his wife, Delores Bartelt, who designated a portion of her will to begin the fund for this organ a decade ago. The three manual, 58-stop instrument features Allen's Quantum technology, offering unprecedented control over even the smallest sound nuance, resulting in a very realistic sound not previously available from a pipeless organ.

Immanuel Lutheran is a member of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and began a century ago with the first services held in the carpenter shop of Oscar Staats in New Butler, today known as the Village of Butler. In the fall of 1912 the first chapel was built, and dedicated in October of that year. In 1955 the first church on Immanuel's present property in Brookfield was finished; 1959 saw the completion of a separate school building; and in 1983 the present church building was first used for worship.

Immanuel Lutheran School offers Christian education, beginning with three-year-old prekindergarten classes and continuing through the eighth grade. The school is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year.
