The Wauwatosa Swordfish swim club participated in a meet at a 50-meter pool at the Rec Plex in Pleasant Prairie.

State qualifiers

Olivia Small (9 years old) qualified for state for the second time this season by swimming the 50-meter backstroke in 44.21 seconds and finishing sixth. She qualified for the 50-meter butterfly earlier this season.

New team records

Lauren Malinowski (12) set team records in three events: 50-meter freestyle in 30.52 seconds, 200-meter free in 2:30.46 and the 200-meter individual medley at 2:53.15. She finished in second place in all three events.

Other highlights

Isabella Minahan (13) dropped almost 20 seconds in her 200-meter individual medley time. She finished with a time of 3:13.03, which placed her 11th in the B-C division.

Samantha Bartelt (10) dropped just short of nine seconds off her time in the 50-meter backstroke. She finished 16th with a time of 48.85.

Julian Cortright (9) swam the 400-meter freestyle for the first time and placed first in the B-C division with a time of 6:53.71.

The next meet for the Swordfish is July 10th at Wirth Park.
