The Wauwatosa East boys track team scored 83.5 points to finish fourth at the Greater Metro Conference Outdoor Championships on May 17 at Menomonee Falls.

Finishing before the Red Raiders were Brookfield East (142), Menomonee Falls (134) and Marquette (93). Brookfield Central (70.5), Hamilton (68), West Allis Hale (42) and West Allis Central (36).

'We missed a few opportunities to score points, which hurts when we missed third place in the team scores by less than 10 points,' coach Mackenzie Laska said. 'But overall it was a solid performance from the team.'

Senior Dan Scallon had a big day, winning the 200-meter dash with a personal record time of 22.19.

He was also a member of the first-place 4x400-meter relay team (3:30.31) with seniors Marquez Green, Nathan Green and Sam Stelloh, and the third place 4x100 relay (44.10) with Ryan Kelnhofer, Lewis Huenink, and Jeremiah King.

Sam Potter finished second in the 1,600-meter run (4:31.53) and was a member of the second-place 4x800 relay team(8:24.93) with Andrew Casey, Stelloh, and Adam Schell. Potter also scored with a seventh-place finish in the 800 (2:06.08)

Marquez Green finished third in the 800 with a PR of 2:01.23, and junior Jack Sveum finished fourth in the 3,200 with a PR of 10:05.03.

Sophomore Cole Tate in the high jump set a PR (5-feet, 8 inches) to take fifth place.

Three individuals finished sixth: junior Pierce Williams in high jump (5-6), senior Nathan Green in the 1,600 with a PR time of 4:37.08, and freshman Max Finco in the 400 with a PR time of 53.67 seconds.

Senior Jermaine Copeland placed sixth in the shot put (44-71/2) and seventh in the discus with a PR toss of 123-91/4.

Faisal Bartlett was seventh in the 3,200 with a PR of 10:16.38, senior Taysion Crape eighth in high hurdles with a PR of 16.03, and Kelnhofer was eighth in the 100 meters (11.56).

Lewis Huenink, who broke the freshman school record in the 200 dash with a 23.19, took ninth place.
