Dennis Rodman breaks down during 'GMA' interview

Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman was back in the news again this week for something he's become famous for besides hoops: He visited North Korea.

The same day he arrived, American student Otto Warmbier was released and died days later. And while speaking with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, his agent Chris Volo said that he asked "on behalf of Dennis" for Warmbier to be released. Rodman didn't know Warmbier was in a coma at the time:

Strahan also asked Rodman about his relationship with leader Kim Kong Un, and the star responded he was a friend, that they've sung karaoke and ridden horses together. He also tried to peel back the curtain on the country and how things have changed there.

At the end of the interview, he broke down speaking about the response stateside to his visits, that he goes to North Korea "out of the kindness of my heart":
