Led by multiple event titles from Michael Green and Paris Howell, Wauwatosa West's boys track and field team cruised to the team championship at the New Berlin West Quad on March 29.
The Trojans racked up 90 points to easily finish ahead of Waterford at 55 points, New Berlin West at 51 points and Mukwonago at 44 points.
Green won the 55-meter dash in 6.98 seconds and the triple jump at 38 feet, 4.5 inches. He finished off his strong day by collecting a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 25.69 seconds.
Howell was the champion in the high jump by clearing 6 feet, 4 inches and claimed the long jump at 20 feet, 11 inches.
Also winning events for Tosa West were Ean Haller in the 55 hurdles in 8.47 seconds and Javaree Jackson in the shot put with a top throw of 54 feet, 0.5 inches.
The Trojans won three relays, claiming the 4x240 in 2 minutes. 7.27 seconds with the team of Aaron Johnson-Moorer, Howell, Haller and Henry Tyson, the 4x400 in 3:47.49 with Tyson, Jeremiah Cash, Joshua Cash and Johnson-Moorer and the 4x800 in 9:10.08 with Jeremiah Cash, Joshua Cash, Collin Jacobi and Ngaru Nen.
Nate Morse-Caruso took second in the 55 dash in 7.10 seconds, Sterling Heit earned a second-place finish in the 1,600 in 5:13.78, Joshua Riebe placed second in the 55 hurdles in 8.78 seconds and Austin Ertl was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 45-03 1/2.
Nen was third in the 400 in 57.54, James Fuhrman came in third in the shot put at 42-07 1/2, Bayden Stoltenburg-Wills took third in the high jump clearing 5-10 and Christopher Jackson was fourth in the 800 in 2:22.45.
Lady Trojans take second at New Berlin West Quad
Tosa West's girls track and field team also competed at the New Berlin West quad, scoring 65.5 team points to finish in second place behind Waterford at 79 points.
The Trojans won six event titles, including Cheri'A Adams taking first in the 55 dash in 7.68 seconds and winning the triple jump at 34-09 1/2. Kayla Crump claimed the 55 hurdles in 9.51 seconds, Breanna Weigman won the high jump by clearing 5-02 and Lauren Nemitz placed first in the long jump at 15-03 1/2.
Dasia Davis was the runner-up in the shot put with a top toss of 31-06 1/2, Marlo Korman took third in the 400 in 1:09.41 and Kim Mai came in third in the pole vault by clearing 7-06.
Tosa West won two relays, taking the 4x160 in 1:31.27 with Adams, Crump, Weigman and Nemitz and the 4x240 in 2:31.25 with Brishaun Bailey, Destiny Harris, Eryn Weaver and Kalyah Allen.
The team of Crump, Nemitz, Korman and Marisa Wilburn took second in the 4x400 in 4:49.46.
