The 12-and under state team of the Wauwatosa Swordfish swimming club competed at UW-Madison's Natatorium from Feb. 24-26.

The boys team was well-represented with multiple top-16 finishes. Drew Miler (10 years old) placed 11th in the 50-yard freestyle with a new team record of 30.38 seconds, while teammate Julian Cortright (10) took home 12th in the 50 breaststroke, 16th in 100 butterfly, 13th in 100 breaststroke (new record of 1:31.79) and 14th in the 50 butterfly (new record 35.12 seconds).

The boys medley relay team placed 16th, also setting a new team record (2:42.81).  The team consisted of Cortright, Miler, Michael Hughes (9) and Finn Haley (10).

The Swordfish girls team recorded many personal-best times.  Meghan Cady (10) set a new team record in her 100 butterfly event (1:22.21), and teammate Olivia Small (10) posted new record times in the 50 butterfly (35.33) and 100 backstroke (1:21.68) while earning a personal record in the 50 freestyle.

Lily Bartz (10) came home with personal records in both 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Anna Miler (10) swam the 100 backstroke in a personal-best time. London Chase performed well in her events of the 50 freestyle and 50 and 100 breaststroke. The girls medley relay (Miler, Chase, Small, and Bartz) placed 24th, improving upon its seed time.
