Tosa West girls basketball 

Wauwatosa West's girls basketball team saw its losing streak hit three games with a 65-33 loss to Pius XI on Jan. 20.

Pius grabbed a 40-15 halftime advantage and continued its momentum into the second half. The loss, which was the Trojans' fifth in their last six games, dropped Tosa West to 5-10 overall and 2-7 in the Woodland West.

Sophomore guard Irene Phillips led the Trojans with 9 points. Sophomore forward Margaret Radske had 8 points, senior guard Cheri'a Adams scored 7 points and senior forward Dasia Davis added 5 points.

Tosa West was scheduled to face New Berlin Eisenhower on Jan. 24. The Trojans will travel to Cudahy to face the Packers at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.

Tosa East boys basketball

Wauwatosa East's boys basketball team fell, 57-38, to Marquette in a Greater Metro Conference game on Jan. 17.

A poor first half did the Red Raiders in, as the Hilltoppers built a 34-17 advantage at the break.

Junior forward Jalen Holley hit 7 of 10 free-throw attempts to finish with a game-high 17 points. Junior guard Mahlik Lindsey added 6 points.

Brookfield Glaciers girls hockey

The Glaciers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Badger Lightning on Jan. 21.

Casey Sandahl, Zoe Sternberg and Hadley Malcolmson scored first-period goals to give Brookfield a 3-1 advantage. Malcolmson tallied her second goal of the game just 49 seconds into the second period to make it 4-1 and completed the hat trick by finding the back of the net 56 seconds into the third period.

Kayleigh Schmor, Ellen Hill and Sandhal had assists for the Glaciers. Grace Elliot stopped 40 of 42 shots on goal to earn the win.

With the victory, Brookfield improved to 5-11-0 on the season.
