Wauwatosa West's girls swimming and diving team took fifth out of 12 teams at the Woodland Conference Championships on Oct. 29 at Greenfield High School.

Greenfield/Pius XI won the team title with 391.5 points, followed by Shorewood (375), New Berlin Eisenhower (290.5), Whitnall (249) and Wauwatosa West (220).

Sophomore Julia Larson claimed an individual conference championship by winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.31 and took second in the 100 freestyle in 55.17.

Senior Jess Wilson took fourth in the 50 freestyle in 26.39 and fifth in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.26.

The relay team of Wilson, freshman Bridget Thuli, junior Ashley Salomone and Larson took third place in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.09, while Wilson, junior Megan Krummel, Thuli and Larson claimed third in the 400 freestyle in 3:55.78.

Other top-10 finishes included Krummel (seventh in 200 freestyle in 2:11.38 and 10th in 500 freestyle in 5:49.58), freshman Bella Palazzari (ninth in 200 freestyle in 2:13.84) and Thuli (eighth in 100 breaststroke in 1:16.46).

Wauwatosa West will next compete at the WIAA Division 2 New Berlin Eisenhower sectional at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.
