The Tosa Swordfish swam their first meet of the short-course season on Oct. 1 at the Menomonee Falls Fall Splash.

Maddie A. Bartz (12 years old) broke a seven-year team record with a 1:09.21 in her 100-yard backstroke to take first place in the event. She also placed second in the 200 individual medley and fourth in the 50 backstroke.

Lauren Malinowski (12) broke her own record in the 50 freestyle (26.43) and set a new team record in the 100 IM (1:06.86).  She placed first in her events of 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle and 100 IM.

Callie Carr (8) placed second in the 25 freestyle and third in both 25 breaststroke and 25 butterfly. London Chase (9) placed third in the 50 breaststroke and fifth in the 50 freestyle. Sam Stolpe (14) competed and placed fourth in both the 100 backstroke and 200 IM.

Drew Miler (10) cut time in his events and placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 IM. Ellie Cady (13) placed sixth in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM.

Callie Carr (8), Katherine Delcore (12), Ellie Owley (12) and Cate Tamburrino (9) each had at least one swim with over 10 percent improvement in their personal-best time.

Tosa Swordfish swim next at Brookfield East High School on Oct. 15th.
