The inaugural season for the Milwaukee County Chargers came to a close with a 27-20 loss to the Door County Destroyers in the first round of the Midstates Football League playoffs on Sept. 10 at Bailey's Harbor Recreation Park.

After Door County jumped out to a 10-0 lead, the Chargers scored 13 unanswered points to take a 13-10 halftime lead.

Turnovers ultimately did Milwaukee County in, as a defensive score by the Destroyers brought them to within 20-19 in the third quarter and another turnover led to another score and a 2-point conversion that put Door County up 27-20.

With time running down, Milwaukee County drove to the Door County 10-yard line, but its final pass attempt was knocked down in the end zone.

The Chargers finished the season 6-5, while the Destroyers moved to 8-3.

Door County will face the Racine Raiders in the Northern Conference Championship Game on Sept. 17.

The Midstates Football League Championship will be held at Hart Park in Wauwatosa at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1.
