Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital has been named a “2017 Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization.

Wauwatosa-based Froedtert Hospital earned top marks for meeting nondiscrimination and training criteria as measured by the HRC Foundation’s Equality Index, and for an assessment of 30 best practices in caring for LGBTQ patients and their families. The HRC Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index is a survey that recognizes health care organizations doing the best work in enabling and providing equal care for LGBTQ Americans.

Froedtert & MCW health network members Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls and St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend were recognized as top performers, both earning 85 points in the survey.
