Science Fair: Washington Elementary School, 2166 N. 68th St., will hold its science fair from 6 to 7 p.m. in the gym. More than 85 projects will be showcased. Students in junior kindergarten through fifth grade participate. The public is invited to come view the students’ work.

Groundhog Day Predictions: Wynter the groundhog will make her annual prediction about when spring weather will arrive at 10:30 a.m. at the Northwestern Mutual Family Farm at the Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road. Cast your vote about whether you think Wynter will see her shadow for a chance to win groundhog-themed headbands, hats and toys. Visitors whose birthday falls on Feb. 2 will get free admission to the zoo with an ID. For all others, regular zoo admission applies.

Meet the Author: Barnes & Noble Mayfair will host a visit from author Kimberla Lawson Roby at 7 p.m. to celebrate the release of her latest book, “Copycat.” She will discuss the book and sign copies.

Friday 2/3

Tot Time: Children up to age 3 and their caregivers can listen to a story and a rhyme and then play with toys during this session from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave. Just drop by.

Saturday 2/4

“Billy Goats Gruff”: This Florentine Children’s Opera performance is based on scenes from operas by Mozart, Donizetti and Rossini and tells the story of three billy goat friends who encounter a bully and turn him into a friend. The performance takes place from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.

Family Free Day at the Zoo: Admission to the Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road, will be free throughout the day. The zoo will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular parking and concession fees still apply.

Black & White Catered Affair 2017: The Education Foundation of Wauwatosa will hold a fundraising dinner and dance at 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 10499 W. Innovation Drive. Cocktails will begin being served at 6 p.m., with heavy hors d'oeuvres, dancing, a silent and live auction beginning at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by The Acoustix and Fellowship of the Strings. Dress in black and white cocktail attire and accessorize with your Wauwatosa school colors. The cost is $90 per person or $750 for a table of 10. Register online at tosaefw.org/black-white-gala. All proceeds benefit the EFW and its grant programs.

Land Use Master Plan Meeting: Consultants will present a draft of the Life Sciences District Master Plan at an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wauwatosa City Hall, 7725 W. North Ave. This is an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback. The Life Sciences District Master Plan formerly was called the Wauwatosa Quadrant Plan or County Grounds Plan.
