The Wauwatosa Police Department is asking for help in identifying and apprehending a man accused of robbing the BMO Harris Bank on North Avenue.

According to Wauwatosa Police Lt. Brian Zalewski, at 4:09 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, a man walked into the BMO Harris Bank, 9210 W. North Ave., approached a teller, handed the teller a note indicating this was a robbery and demanded money. The man obtained money and fled from the bank. No weapon was displayed.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6-foot, 160 to 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue or gray eyes.

The man fled the area in a late 90s blue or purple Chevy Cavalier with a blue dealer plate on the back.

Zalewski said police have indications the suspect may be a local man.
