Isthmus Brass Christmas: Under the direction of John Stevens, Wisconsin’s Isthmus Brass will perform a holiday concert at the Center for Arts and Performance Schwan Concert Hall at Wisconsin Lutheran College, 8800 W. Saturday 12/17

Open Swim: The swimming pool at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., will be open to the public from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Admission costs $2 per adult, $1 per child up to age 17 and $1 for adults 62 and older. Children 7 and younger must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Water wings, inflated tubes, masks and snorkels are not allowed.

Legos @ Your Library: Children 7 and older are invited to the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to build great creations with Legos. Students from the Wauwatosa West High School Key Club will staff this program. Registration is required; call the library at 414-471-8486.

Packers vs. Bears: The game will be shown on a 10-foot projection screen and 60-inch LED televisions in the Grand Hall at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The beer garden will be open.


Monday 12/19

Rhyme Time: Children up to 3 years of age are invited to enjoy a 20-minute session featuring nursery rhymes, stories, songs, finger plays and more at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave. An adult must attend with the child; older siblings are welcome.

George Winston Workshop: Guitar, harmonica, piano and general music will be highlighted in this musical workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Steinway Piano Gallery of Milwaukee, 11550 W. North Ave. Admission is free and students do not need to bring instruments. Call 414-727-5995 for information.

Card game: The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to play cards at the Wauwatosa Civic Center, 7725 W. North Ave. The club is open to all area residents 50 or older and is sponsored by the Wauwatosa School District Recreation Department. For information, call 414-479-8900, ext. 5789.

Backgammon tourney: The Milwaukee Backgammon Club will host a tournament at 6:30 p.m. at Rounding Third Sports Bar & Grill, 6317 W. Bluemound Road. The tournament includes a Main Flight and a Consolation Flight — guaranteeing at least two 5-point matches for everyone who enters — plus an optional side pool. The entry fee is $6.
