Friday 11/11

Student art show: Wisconsin Lutheran, 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave., hosts a student art show through Nov. 22 in the Schlueter Art Gallery, Center for Arts and Performance.

Wine Tasting Night: Vendors will share samples of about 50 wines at the Wauwatosa Woman’s Club, 1626 Wauwatosa Ave., from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Favorite bottles can be ordered at the end of the evening. Light appetizers, beer, soda and water will be available. Proceeds benefit the Woman’s Club and its philanthropic efforts. Admission costs $40. A wine glass is included in the price. Get a Flu Shot: Flu shots will be available to Hart Park Senior Center members during a Mini Resource Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the center, 7300 Chestnut St. Bring your insurance card.

Veterans Day Program: A brief service and musical tribute to American service members will be held at 11 a.m. at the Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St. All veterans in attendance will be recognized with a special gift from The United Way.

Saturday 11/12

Open Swim: The swimming pool at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., will be open to the public from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Admission costs $2 per adult, $1 per child up to age 17 and $1 for adults 62 and older. Children 7 and younger must be accompanied in the water by an adult. Water wings, inflated tubes, masks and snorkels are not allowed.

Sunday 11/13

Packers vs. Titans: The game will be shown on a 10-foot projection screen and 60-inch LED televisions in the Grand Hall at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The beer garden will be open.

Monday 11/14

Jazz & Such: Members of the Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St., will enjoy a jazz performance from 3:30 to 5 p.m. This is free to members or a $1 donation for others. For information, call the center at 414-471-8495.

Workshop for Those In Need: The Suburban Woman’s Club of Wauwatosa will host a daylong workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Wauwatosa Memorial Civic Center, 7725 W. North Ave. Join SWCW members as they complete the following projects: stuff cancer heart pillows for VA hospital; fringe snuggle blankets for children at Sojourner Family Peace Center and Meta House; Christmas trees for Veterans Administration men and women; bag toiletries for Sojourner Family Peace Center and Meta House; lap robes for VA veterans; or cut out finger puppets for the Wauwatosa Health Department. Donations of children’s story books (all ages) new or in excellent condition are needed. A light lunch will be served at a cost of $5. Rhyme Time: Children up to 3 years of age are invited to enjoy a 20-minute session featuring nursery rhymes, stories, songs, finger plays and more at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave. An adult must attend with the child; older siblings are welcome.

Card game: The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to play cards at the Wauwatosa Civic Center, 7725 W. North Ave. The club is open to all area residents 50 or older and is sponsored by the Wauwatosa School District Recreation Department. For information, call 414-479-8900, ext. 5789.

Senior Center Birthday Bash: Members of the Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St., will celebrate those members born in November with a party at 1:30 p.m. Call the center at 414-471-8495 to register and bring a friend.

Karaoke: Take the stage and sing during Karaoke Night at the Chancery, 7615 W. State St., at 9 p.m. This event is held every Wednesday.

Backgammon tourney: The Milwaukee Backgammon Club will host a tournament at 6:30 p.m. at Rounding Third Sports Bar & Grill, 6317 W. Bluemound Road. The tournament includes a Main Flight and a Consolation Flight — guaranteeing at least two 5-point matches for everyone who enters — plus an optional side pool. The entry fee is $6.
