For the second consecutive year, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital ranked among the nation’s top performing academic medical centers, according to a study by Vizient, an alliance of United States academic medical centers and hospitals.

The only Wisconsin hospital to be recognized, Froedtert & MCW Froedtert Hospital ranked fourth (up from fifth in 2015). The Froedtert & MCW health network was the only state health system recognized for excellence in outpatient care, one of five organizations nationwide to earn the recognition.

More than 100 academic medical centers and 124 hospitals participated in the study. The ranking was published in the Vizient 2016 Quality and Accountability Study.

For outpatient care, the Froedtert & MCW health network ranked second nationally among the five health care organizations earning Vizient’s Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award.
