Family Story Time: Enjoy stories, songs, movement, crafts and more with your kids just before bedtime at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Adults are included in the activities and kids can wear their pajamas.

'The Velveteen Rabbit': The Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa's summer theater troupe will present this tale of a boy's love for a toy bunny at 7 p.m. at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave. The show is free and open to all.

Public swimming at Hoyt: The Tosa Pool at Hoyt Parkis open for public swim from noon to 4:30 p.m.Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m.Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.to 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission costs $7.50; children 2 and younger get in free. Evening swims take place Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Evening admission costs $5; children 2 and younger get in free.

Parent/Tot swim: Parents and their children 6 and younger can play in the zero-depth area at the Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Admission costs $4. Children 2 and younger get in free.

Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Kinetic, an instrumental quartet that combines elements of rock, jazz, funk and prog, will perform music from several genres from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

Card game: The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to play cards at the Wauwatosa Civic Center, 7725 W. Tosa's Night Out: The Wauwatosa Police Department is hosting the annual safety and crime prevention event from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road. A family of four can receive four T-shirts, admission to the zoo, free parking, free train and carousel rides and free access to special exhibits and many giveaways for $25.
