The Wauwatosa Public Library has announced its lineup of programs for children and families scheduled this summer.
All events are at the library, 7635 W. North Ave., and are free. They aim to help children maintain reading skills throughout the warmer months.
The events include:
·Story and craft time,10 a.m. June 24 and July 22. Ages 3 and up are invited to listen to a story and then create a craft. Reservation not required.
·The Social Brain,10 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 27. Drop into the library to share book titles and ideas. Participants can post their ideas to the Book Wall for all to see. Second and third grades will participate at 10 a.m. and fourth and fifth grades will meet at 1 p.m. Reservation not required.
·Family Story Time,6:30 p.m. June 30, July 28 and Aug. 25. Enjoy a story time with your kids just before bedtime with songs, movement, crafts and more. Kids are welcome to wear pajamas. Reservation not required.
·Bike repair and safety,3 p.m. June 30. Grades 4 and up can learn simple bike repair and safety at the library. Johnson's Cycle and Fitness will present a program. Reservation not required.
·Movie and craft time,9:30 a.m. July 1 and 25. For ages 3 and up, this event includes a movie and matching craft. Reservation not required.
·Performance by Steve Girman, 10 a.m. July 7. Girman will perform with juggling, music, stories and magic. All ages are invited to the library's civic auditorium for the show.
·Color Craze, 10 a.m. July 8. Kids grades 3 and up are invited to 'go crazy' with coloring by decorating an intricate poster and bookmark. Reservation not required.
