Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Peter Donalds will perform soulful vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landingat Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd. His repertoire contains classic and contemporary pop, folk, jazz and originals.
Kohl's Wild Theater: Kohl's Wild Theater starts its sixth season at the Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road, with four performances daily: 'The Wonderful Lizard of ooZ,' a performance that highlights the importance of keeping pet frogs in their terrariums; 'The Mysterious Case of the Disappearing Bees,' an interactive play that uncovers clues about a yellow-banded bumblebee; 'The Treasure of the Sea,' an ocean adventure that educates families about the importance of eating sustainable seafood; and 'Journey to the Rich Coast,' a musical migration that follows the path of two Wisconsin birds. Throughout the day zoogoers can also interact with actoroperated puppets and watch short skits at some animal exhibits around the Zoo.
Hoyt Pool opens:Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., opens to the public at 11 a.m.Members get in at 10 a.m. and early morning lap swimming for members starts at 8 a.m. In addition, members can stop by for a sneak peek from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Opening weekend hours are: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday Parent/Tot Time begins Tuesday, May 31.

Memorial Day ceremony: Wauwatosa will mark Memorial Day with a ceremony at 10:30 a.m.at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave. The one-hour ceremony will feature Dennis Konkel, a longtime Wauwatosa resident, a captain with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's training division and a member of Wisconsin Army National Guard. He holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard and is a veteran of two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Wauwatosa Community Band also will perform.

Card game:The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to play cards at the Wauwatosa Civic Center, 7725 W. Get lost in a book: The Wauwatosa Public Library's summer reading program: 'On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!' is ready to kick off. Pick up a reading log at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave. Kids ages birth to 17 can earn prizes by reading. Guest performers will make appearances to entertain young readers throughout the summer.
