Nominations sought in second
annual Raise the Roof giveaway
123 Exteriors, a full-service residential and commercial exterior remodeling company with offices in Waukesha, is looking for a nominations in its second annual roof giveaway.
Last year a Wauwatosa family was chosen to receive a new roof on their home, which was donated by 123 Exteriors, Richards Building Supply and IKO.

Bill Porter, city's public works director retires; department to be restructured
Wauwatosa's Director of Public Works Bill Porter retired from his post with the city May 18.
Porter was hired as Wauwatosa's public works director in 2011. He previously worked at the helm of the public works department in Glenview, Ill., for 22 years and left in 2008 to accept an early retirement package.
Porter said the public works department will be restructured after he leaves; Operations Superintendent Kevin Hurst and Business Manager Marion Sodnik will fill in to help cover Porter's old duties until a new department director is named, Porter said.
Wauwatosa announces plans for
2016 Memorial Day ceremony
Wauwatosa's Civic Celebration Committee, and the city, have announced details for this year's Memorial Day Ceremony.
The ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. May 30 at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave.
The one-hour ceremony will feature Dennis Konkel, a longtime Wauwatosa resident, a captain with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's training division and, since 1987, a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard and is a veteran of two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Wauwatosa Community Band also will perform.
