The old Eschweiler buildings started to come Wednesday, April 13. A crane pulled down an upper window of the dormitory building and began to pull off the roof.
The dormitory building and the dairy building will be razed, with walled gardens preserving the sites.
The adminstration building has been renovated and will be used as offices and fitness centers for the residents of the Echelon apartment complex, which surrounds the site.
The entire process of removing the two buildings is likely to take weeks, a Mandel spokesman said.
