Our Redeemer Lutheran Lego team tops state
Team Lots of Legos, made up of six girls from Our Redeemer Lutheran School, won the top prize in the First Lego League State Championships, after winning at the regional and sectional levels. They have been invited to the National Championships in California — the Legoland North American Open — in May.
The First Lego League is a worldwide program challenging teams made up of fourth- through eighth-graders to practice imaginative thinking and teamwork in a fun and competitive environment.
Guided by adult coaches, the teams research a real-world problem develop a solution.
The team members are: Janelle Johnson, Rebecca Gatewood, Aleksy Hicks, Emma Johnson, Hailey Beyer and Claire Johnson. The team is assisted by manager Nathan Wessel and a group of adult mentors and coaches.
Tosa East table tennis team is state champ
The Wauwatosa East Table Tennis team took the state championship the weekend of Markch12-13 with a final match victory over Pewaukee. East won their pool play, setting them up for the championship bracket where they won consecutive matches over Brookfield Academy and then Pewaukee.
On the winning team are Ben Prange, Jordan Crump, Tony Busalacchi and captain Evan Christopherson
Wauwatosa East class of 1976 planning 40th reunion
The Wauwatosa East High School class of 1976 will hold its 40-year reunion and is looking for classmates who are unaware of the planned gathering.
