TosaFest will use market space for September week

The Wauwatosa Common Council granted a street festival permit Tuesday night for Tosa-Fest, a long-standing tradition of music, food and family fun, which will celebrate 41 years this year. The festival would be held September 9 and 10.

Part of the approval included the relocation of the Tosa Farmers Market to the Rotary Stage at Hart Park. If not relocated, the market would be held in the same area as the street festival.

Under the approval, the city would waive all rental fees for the stage and would assist in moving equipment for the market.

'I would like to thank the Tosa Farmers Market for stepping up and willing to make that move,' Alderman Jason Kofroth said.

The event's site plan, including security measures and necessary barricades, still require approval.
