The ice rink at Center Street Park in Wauwatosa will be back this winter along with a new, second rink for younger children.
The official opening will offer free skate lending and family activities around the fire pit from noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 16 and 17.
Skating at Center Street Park, located on the Milwaukee-Wauwatosa border at 6420 W. Clarke St., is made possible by the Friends of Center Street Park in partnership with WaterStone Bank, Milwaukee County Parks, Pettit National Ice Center and volunteers, including the Center Street Hosers, according to a news release.
On weekends throughout the season, volunteers in the warming house will lend donated skates and will sell hot beverages and light snacks. Hours of free skate lending and concessions operations are subject to volunteer ability between noon and 6 p.m.
Rink hours will be from sunrise to 9 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Warming hours will be Monday to Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. and noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
