Kohl's has announced that a new 'Off/Aisle' pilot discount store will debut at The Mayfair Collection in Wauwatosa.

The store will open to customers in late March or early April, according to Jen Johnson, vice president of communications for Kohl's.

The Wauwatosa spot is one of two locations to open in the Milwaukee area this spring. Another pilot Off/Aisle Kohl's store will open at 120 E. Sunset Drive, Unit C, in Waukesha. These will be the second and third stores of their kind; the first pilot opened in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in June 2015.

The store will allow customers to browse for merchandise, including apparel, accessories and home items, at an incredible discount, Johnson said.

The new 23,392-square-foot store will be located in the last remaining anchor space between Dick's Sporting Goods and Ulta Beauty in the prominent shopping center development's first phase.

'We believe The Mayfair Collection offers the perfect venue for Kohl's to launch their new store concept, which is a big reason why we are so excited to have them as our final anchor for Phase 1,' said Tim Blum of HSA Commercial Real Estate.

'By having other category leaders such as Nordstrom Rack and DSW nearby, Off/Aisle will be well-positioned to introduce the store to target customers from across the Midwest.'

Located north of Burleigh Street, just east of Highway 45, in Wauwatosa, The Mayfair Collection is a shopping center that repurposed functionally obsolete warehouse buildings into contemporary retail environments.

Phase 1 of the Mayfair Collection was anchored by Nordstrom Rack, Dick's Sporting Goods, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, DSW and more. It opened in April 2014.

The Mayfair Collection's second phase will be anchored by a 45,150-square-foot Whole Foods Market, scheduled to open in March 2016.
