Wauwatosa School District will maintain new pedestrian bridge

The pedestrian bridge between Whitman Middle School and Wauwatosa West High School will be maintained by the Wauwatosa School District, according to a district source.

After the heavy snowfall on Dec. 28, the bridge was cleared of snow by Wauwatosa School District staff. The bridge was salted on Jan. 3 and again the morning of Jan. 4.

The bridge will be monitored by building and grounds staff as the snow melts due to sunshine and refreezing or if additional snowfall occurs.

If any residents have concerns about the bridge, they may contact district offices at (414) 773-1000.

Christmas trees picked up through Jan. 15

Christmas trees in Wauwatosa will be picked up from curbs through Jan. 15 for mulching. Residents are asked to make sure trees are clear of decorations and not in a bag.

No wreaths or greenery with wires should be placed at the curb.
