An overflow crowd at the last County Grounds public meeting has prompted a change in location for the next meeting on the topic.

The city of Wauwatosa is inviting the public to attend the third public open house to discuss the future of the County Grounds from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at the Muellner Building at Hart Park, 7300 Chestnut Street.

The city, which calls the undertaking the "Wauwatosa Life Sciences District Draft Master Plan," held previous meetings at city hall but saw an oversize crowd flood the building with people wishing to participate.

"We wanted to have a venue where we could accommodate more people," Assistant to the Mayor Karen Jaeckels said.

A presentation at 6 p.m. will include a summary of the online town hall survey, a description of the concept plan revisions, and options currently being considered that were based on public input.

The public will then have an opportunity to comment on the plan. The final stage will allow attendees to speak to the consultant team at discussion boards.
