A Milwaukee man has been charged in Milwaukee County for allegedly habitually leering at women in public places, including an office building in Wauwatosa.
Timothy Peter Russo, 49, was arrested Jan. 27 by the Wauwatosa Police Department after police received the last in a series of calls from the office building at 2323 N. Mayfair Road.
According to a criminal complaint filed Feb. 10 by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office, when women at the office would use the bathroom, they often noticed a male's arm, shoulder, upper body and head come under the bathroom stall divider and look up at them.
According to the complaint, Russo admitted to the offenses and claimed his "urges" compelled him to commit the acts. He said that he has been doing it for years and admitted to needing help because the urges are strong. Russo admitted to masturbating during the acts, the complaint said.
Russo faces eight charges, ranging from invasion of privacy to disorderly conduct, and has been labeled a repeat offender. The complaint said there have been documented incidents at the office building that Wauwatosa police have been able to tie to Russo beginning in May 2016.
If convicted of the charges, Russo faces from 90 days to 2 years in prison for each count. There are no scheduled court appearances at this time.
Russo has previously been convicted of a felony in Waukesha County for battery and threatening a family member. The complaint said that he has a lengthy criminal record that dates to 1984 and after completing his most recent prison sentence he changed his name from Timothy Peter Russo to Peter G. Russo.
