Still wondering when that Mayfair Collection hotel will be completed.

Issue: A couple of readers have been wondering about the seemingly slow or halted construction of the hotel whose construction seems to be at a standstill. “What’s with the half-finished hotel on Burleigh near the Mayfair Collection?” our reader asked in mid-January.

Status: The project appears to be moving along with the recent sighting of new windows being installed and construction of scaffolding, signaling more work on the exterior. The project developer said the hotel – a five-story, 146-room Homewood Suites by Hilton – is still scheduled to be completed this spring.

In early January, prior to our second reader inquiry, Ask Now followed up on a similar question from August 2016. At the time, developer John Mangel, CEO of Phoenix Development Partners, said the previous delay, caused by waiting for the completion of three new restaurants at the retail area, was back on track and the scaffolding would be in place the next week.

Ask Now continued to track progress through January and last week took note of the new windows and scaffolding.
