An analysis by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the bone fragments found at a home construction site in Wauwatosa are from a human skull.

Karen Domagalski from the ME's office said the office performed an analysis of the bone fragments uncovered Friday, Jan. 20 during a home excavation in the 1700 block of Underwood Avenue. The remains were discovered by a construction crew during the beginning of construction of a new house on the lot.

"Based upon the condition of the skull and material found with it, the skull is estimated to be decades old," Domagalski said. "The skull will be sent to the University of North Texas – Center for Human Identification for further analysis by a Forensic Anthropologist."

More information about the analysis by the ME's office was not immediately available.
