Swimming, diving and cooling off as summer fun for the family seems like a distant dream in early winter.
Despite the impending cold weather, the management team from the Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park are holding a 2017 membership drive in time for the holiday season.
“Buying a membership is a great way to show your support for our nonprofit community pool, and it’s a great deal, too,” Executive Director Kit Slawski said. “It takes a family of four only eight visits for their family membership to pay for itself when compared to our daytime open swim rate. And each membership comes with exclusive benefits.”
Those benefits include special membership-only events, early entry to open swim, extended lap-swimming hours and 10 percent discounts on parties and Grand Hall rentals.
A 2017 family membership can be purchased online at tosapool.org/members for $255. A family pass covers up to two adults and children ages 17 and younger in the same household. Adult children ages 18 to 22 are included if they are full-time students. Individual memberships are also on sale and cost $90.
The pool is scheduled to open to the general public May 27, 2017; in addition, the following events are tentatively scheduled for members:
- Sneak Peak Night on Friday, May 26
- I Scream for Ice Cream on Friday, June 16
- 7th Annual Luau Party on Saturday, July 15
- Summer Wrap-Up on Wednesday, Aug. 16
The Tosa Pool and The Landing at Hoyt Park are operated by the Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, a nonprofit group that raised money to build the pool. FOHPP has a 55-year lease with Milwaukee County to operate the pool and does not receive taxpayer support.
