The Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park is recruiting its first in-house lifeguard crew for the 2017 season and will begin accepting online applications Dec. 1. Previously the Milwaukee County Parks was contracted to provide lifeguards at the pool.

"After a successful six-year partnership with Milwaukee County Parks, Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool is looking forward to this new chapter in the growth of our nonprofit, community pool," a statement from Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool said. "Brad Mier has been hired as aquatics and safety manager to oversee the new crew of Tosa Pool lifeguards, who will continue to promote the highest standards of safety while gaining valuable summer work experience in a respectful and enjoyable work environment."

These seasonal, part-time positions are needed for the period of May 8 to Sept. 4, although starting dates may be subject to an applicant's school schedule. Hours include evenings, weekends and holidays. Training will be provided by American Red Cross and pool staff, including in-water training and classroom training, and uniforms will be provided. A full job description is available at tosapool.org/lifeguards.

Applications will become available at tosapool.org/jobs starting on Dec. 1, and they will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 23. For more information, call 414-302-9160 or email Mier at brad.mier@tosapool.com.

"We're looking forward to hiring and training the most qualified lifeguard crew and making the transition without a hiccup,” Mier said.
