Veterans Day program at Senior Center
A brief service and musical tribute to American service members will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St. All veterans in attendance will be recognized with a special gift from The United Way.
The Salvation Army participates in Veterans Day Parade
The Salvation Army participated in the annual Veterans Day Parade Saturday, Nov. 5. The Salvation Army's canteen (mobile kitchen) and giant red kettle was accompanied by volunteers from Brookfield Central High School's Red Kettle Club. This year’s annual parade included over 1,000 veterans and military members marching in the parade from all over southeastern Wisconsin as well as floats, marching bands, baton twirlers and more.
Free greens fees for veterans
To honor those who continue to serve our country, the Milwaukee County Parks Department is offering military veterans and active service members free greens fees at any of its 15 golf courses on Nov. 11. Tee-time reservations are recommended.
Veterans may reserve a tee time online, by phone, or at the course. Online reservations are available at milwaukeecountygolfcourses.com via the “Book a Tee Time” link. Phone reservation are available at 414-475-6222 or by calling the course. To receive the free greens fee, veterans must present a military ID to the golf starter. The use of a golf car is not required to receive the free offer.
