An active shooter emergency response exercise will take place on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran College the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 11. The exercise has been designed to allow all participants to test response protocols and emergency communication systems to ensure the highest levels of readiness. Media agencies and local neighborhood associations are being alerted in advance of the activity to ensure awareness that this is an exercise scenario and not a real emergency.
"This is a project that has been in the works for six months or so," Wisconsin Lutheran College spokesman Jim Brandt said. "It is a collaborative full scale exercise with local response teams and the regional medical center. It's pretty expansive."
