If there's a restaurant you've always wanted to try in Wauwatosa, a good time to finally check it out might be mid-September, thanks to the upcoming dining event "10 Days in Tosa."

The annual event, which highlights local Wauwatosa Chamber of Commerce member restaurants, serves up the opportunity for diners to not only visit old favorites and new eateries alike, but possibly win some gift cards along the way, said Lisa Kuimjian, marketing coordinator for the chamber.

"It's a major dining event to help bring people into Wauwatosa to experience the wealth of restaurants we have," she said of the event.

So far, 31 restaurants across the city have confirmed they'll be involved with the 10-day event that runs Sept. 12-21, but Kuimjian said it's likely a few more will trickle into the lineup as the start date nears.

Restaurants like Leff's Lucky Town, 7208 W. State St., have already confirmed. The restaurant will offer $5 build-your-own burgers for lunch and dinner. Jimmy's Island Grill & Iguana Bar, 2303 N. Mayfair Road, will offer a number of specials including a three-course dinner for $20, with options like Jimmy's House Salad Mahi Mahi, bourbon pork chop or a half rack of barbecue ribs and turtle cheesecake for dessert.

The chamber will continue to update all of the offerings through an interactive map on the website 10daysintosa.com. Each restaurant chooses the deal it will offer. Some restaurants, like Black Shoe Hospitality, which operates Maxies, Blue's Egg and Storyhill BKC, will sell gift cards at a reduced fee instead of a special menu offering.

This year's presenting partners include Lowlands Group, which operates Cafe Hollander and Cafe Bavaria in Wauwatosa. Both restaurants are included in the lineup; Cafe Hollander will offer complimentary fries with the purchase of any Lowlands Company Bier and Cafe Bavaria will offer a free side of kettle chips with any liter of beer purchase.

Kuimjian said one exciting new part about this year's dining event is the addition of the new Bartolotta restaurants at The Mayfair Collection off Burleigh Street. Osgood's, ABV Social, Taqueria El Jefe and Cafe Grace will all be participating in the "10 Days in Tosa" event.

The event will also give away a large number of gift cards - another new aspect this year, said Kuimjian. Each restaurant will collect names of its diners and at the end of the event, a number of drawings will be held to give away the gift certificates.
