Music at the Landing: Singer-songwriter Sean McGibany will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd. McGibany combines colorful, everyman poetry with pop melodies.

LEGO Buildathon: LEGOs and wooden block will be available for children 5 and older to build with between 1 and 3 p.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.

Friday 6/23

Music at the Landing: Scotch & Soda, an acoustic band that features saxophone, guitars, keys, and bass, will perform everything from Motown to rockabilly and acoustic rock from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd. Matthew Devan from SA Braai will grill Boerewors Sausage with Chutney, served on a Milwaukee Pretzel Company Bun.

One Story, One Craft: Children are invited to listen to “Amelia Bedelia” and make a craft at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. 

Saturday 6/24

Hall of Fame ceremony: Wauwatosa West will be holding its 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at noon at Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St. Inductees include: Greg Carlson, athlete; Heather Cera, athlete; Robin Grindrod, athlete; Russ Kornman, athlete; Betsy Ptacek, coach; and Robert Smith, athlete.

Music at the Landing: Five-piece band Swing & a Miss will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

 

Sunday 6/25

East Tosa Gran Prix: East Tosa Alliance will host the fifth Annual East Tosa Gran Prix, the 10th and final race in Tour of America’s Dairyland, the largest competitive road cycling event in the United States. Tour of America’s Dairyland presented by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board offers high-energy cycling action featuring pro and amateur racers from around the world. The races showcase male and female riders of different age and skill levels. The East Tosa Gran Prix and neighboring district will host the final leg of the race. Enjoy the free and dramatic family event complemented by a kid’s race, local music (Pete and the Hot Mess start at 1 p.m.), food, beverages, neighborhood parties and more.

Cupcake Wars: Children ages 11 and older can show off their creativity by decorating cupcakes at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Supplies will be provided.

Tuesday 6/27

Story Time: Children 3 to 6 years of age can discover stories, prereading skills, songs, movement and crafts at 1:30 p.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.

Wednesday 6/28

Story Time: Children 3 to 6 years of age can discover stories, prereading skills, songs, movement and crafts at 9:30 and 11 a.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.

Quizmaster Trivia: Compete in a friendly, outdoor trivia contest (indoors if it rains) from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

Solar Tosa: Check out this grassroots residential and commercial group purchasing program for solar energy at 6 p.m. at Red Dot, 6715 W. North Ave. This group is offered by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, and allows home and business owners throughout Wauwatosa and Milwaukee to help pool their buying power to secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable. Other information sessions will be held at 4 p.m. July 8 at Tosa Yoga, 6734 W. North Ave., and 6 p.m. July 19 at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave.

Backgammon play: The Milwaukee Backgammon Club invites all players, from novice to advanced, to its open play night of heads-up games, multiplayer chouettes, and beginner lessons at 6:30 p.m. at Rounding Third Sports Bar & Grill, 6317 W.
