Michael Phelps appears on 'AGT,' which seems fitting.

If you watched the Olympics, you're aware that America's Got Talent.

So, it only seems natural that Michael Phelps, the athlete with an astonishing 23 gold medals, would co-host the NBC show, right?

The swimmer who recently announced his retirement, entered the arena for its live results show on Wednesday to The Script's Hall of Fame and was welcomed with a standing ovation. Led by Nick Cannon, the audience chanted "USA."

Cannon, wearing a gold jacket in honor of his guest, asked Phelps how it felt when he clinched his last gold medal.

"It's so hard because it's like, I think at that moment was when all the emotions came out," the 31-year-old said. "Because I was finally happy with everything that I did in my career, and I was able to retire how I wanted to. But most importantly, I had our first child in the stands, there watching the race. And he wasn't always awake, but it's a completely different experience being able to look up and see your baby boy up there after a race."

Nearly four-month-old Boomer was in the audience with his mom, Phelps' fiancée, Nicole Johnson. Before the show, the fam took this black-and-white photo with judge Simon Cowell.

With more than 636,000 followers, Boomer gives us goals, and his dad shared how we can achieve them on the AGT stage. When Howard  University freshman Cannon asked what drives Phelps to succeed, he admitted, "I hate to lose, number one."

"My biggest thing was, I started goal-setting at like [age] nine, and I literally dreamt for the stars and dreamt for the biggest possible thing I could think of," said Phelps. "So, I basically said I wanted to change the sport of swimming, and I wanted to do something that nobody had ever done before."

That's a big check for Phelps in our books.
