Halle Berry goes au naturel in first Instagram post

"It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see."

Henry David Thoreau first uttered those words back in the 19th century. It’s almost as if he was looking ahead — to things hoped for but not yet seen. Like Halle Berry joining Instagram.

The Academy Award-winning actress took to Twitter Tuesday to herald the arrival of her new account, which features a brief bio dedicated to Thoreau's enduring words as well as a forest shot of Berry, topless, her ombre curls cascading down her bare back.

"Hi everyone," Berry captioned the au naturel image. "Welcome! Today is a very exciting day for me. I’m looking forward to sharing our world through images that reflect my emotions and perceptions.
