Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Sigmund Snopek will perform on flute, oboe, saxophone and various horns, in addition to singing and playing keyboard, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

Scary Tales: Listen to spooky stories at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave., from 6:30 to 7 p.m. If you want to tell your own scary tale, write the bones of your story down prior to the program for review. This program is not recommended for children younger than 9.

Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Blue Waters will perform “front porch blues” style music from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

Boo at the Zoo: The Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Bluemound Road, will have many wickedly fun, family-friendly activities from 6 to 9 p.m. (also Saturday). Reduced admission rates are offered for this event: $9 per adult, $7 per child 3 to 12 and free for children 2 and younger. Parking will cost $7.

Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Chris Kohn will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd.

Tosa Farmers Market: Shop produce and more from more than 40 vendors during this open-air market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Oct. 15 in the Village of Wauwatosa at 7720 Harwood Ave.

Soles for Catholic Education Walk: Take a 2-mile walk at 10 a.m. starting at Mount Mary University, 2900 N. Menomonee River Pkwy. The walk benefits local Catholic schools including Christ King, St. Jude the Apostle and Wauwatosa Catholic. Registration costs $10. To register, visit www.catholicschoolswalk.org.

“Heidi”: Children’s Theatre of Wauwatosa’s CTW Players will perform the story of “Heidi” at 2 p.m. in the Lois Weber Theatre, Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave. The cast consists of students in grade six through 12 and tells the story of the young girl sent to live with her grandfather in the Swiss mountains and of the love and friendship she finds there. Packers vs. Cowboys: The game will be shown on a 10-foot projection screen and 60-inch LED televisions in the Grand Hall at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., from 3:25 to 6:25 p.m. The beer garden will be open.

Rhyme Time: Children up to 3 years of age are invited to enjoy a 20-minute session featuring nursery rhymes, stories, songs, finger plays and more at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W. North Ave . An adult must attend with the child; older siblings are welcome.

Card game: The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to play cards at the Wauwatosa Civic Center, 7725 W. North Ave. The club is open to all area residents 50 or older and is sponsored by the Wauwatosa School District Recreation Department. For information, call 414-479-8900, ext. 5789.

Forget Me Not: An Adult Health Speaker Series: The Wauwatosa Health Department is sponsoring a speaker series that focuses on meeting the needs of families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. All programs run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Wauwatosa Public Library, 7635 W.
