Thursday 8/18

Politics and Music at The Landing at Hoyt: Evan & Tom Leahy Band will perform folk rolk with
some Irish tunes included from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan
Blvd. Grassroots Tosa will meet at 6:30 at The Landing to enjoy a lively political conversation
and enjoy the show. Feel free to join in.

Packers Vs. Raiders: The preseason game will be shown on a 10-foot projection screen and 60-inch
LED televisions in the Grand Hall at The Landing at Hoyt Park and Pool, 1800 N. Swan
Blvd., from 7  to 9 p.m. The beer garden will be open.

Public swimming at Hoyt: The Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park is open for public swim from noon to 4:30
p.m.
Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.
to 8 p.m.
Sunday. Admission costs $7.50; children 2 and younger get in free. Evening swims
take place Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Evening admission costs $5; children 2 and
younger get in free.

Parent/Tot swim: Parents and their children 6 and younger can play in the zero-depth area at
the Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Admission costs $4.
Children 2 and younger get in free.

The Battle of Gettysburg: The Hart Park Senior Center, 7300 Chestnut St., presents a program
by Kettle Moraine history teacher Joe Paul about the Battle of Gettysburg at 1:30 p.m. The cost
is $2, which includes lemonade and cookies.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a la Carte: Los Lobos will perform at 8 p.m. at the Milwaukee
County Zoo
, 10001 W. Bluemound Road. A la carte also will feature 27 food vendors selling
delicious foods and beverages throughout the grounds throughout the day. Special activities will
be held. Admission costs $14.25 per adult, $11.25 per child ages 3 to 12, $13.25 per adult 60 or
older and is free for children 2 and younger. Parking costs $12. Discounted tickets are available
at TriCity Bank locations through Aug. 21.

Full Moon Bicycle Ride: Pedal local roads and paved trails with friends and fellow cyclists at 8
p.m.,
beginning at North Avenue and 69th Street, at the city parking lot. The pace is slow and
social.Get together with the other attendees afterward at Wy'east Pizza, 5601 W. Vliet St. Bring
your bike, helmet, lights and friends. Wear bright and/or reflective clothing.

Diva Day: Plan a day in the Village filled with shopping, sipping and indulging just for you and your gal pals from noon to 8 p.m. Register for a Diva Pass at Yes Etc. Collective,1430 Underwood Avenue with prize drawings at 7:30 p.m. and more at Bridgetowne Framing Gallery at 7734 Harwood Ave.

Tosa Farmers Market: Shop produce and more from more than 40 vendors during this open-air
market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Oct. 15 in the Village of Wauwatosa at 7720
Harwood Ave.

Rummage Sale: The Hart Park Senior Center, 1700 W. Chestnut St., is holding a rummage sale
from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Muellner Building. Profits will benefit programs at the center.

Tosa Youth Tri: The Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool is hosting its first youth triathlon for children
ages 9 to 13. A fun event and a challenge event will be offered beginning at 8 a.m. at Tosa Pool
at Hoyt Park
. The fun event is a 100-yard swim, 2-mile bike ride and 0.6-mile run. The challenge event is a 200-yard swim, a 4-mile bike ride and a 1.2-mile run. Participation costs $45. Registration material is available at www.tosayouthtri.com. For information, call Kit at 414-302-9160.

Card game: The Wauwatosa Senior Club meets every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to
3 p.m.

MKE Area Time Exchange: Join this group dedicated to neighbors exchanging their talents and

Backgammon play: The Milwaukee Backgammon Club invites all players, from novice to
