Wauwatosa East senior Max Kilpin signed a national letter of intent to participate in track at Marquette University last week.
Kilpin is a two-time state qualifier in the high jump, placing eighth in state in 2010, his sophomore year, and qualifying again his junior year, 2011. He was a WIAA sectional high jump champion in 2010.
In 2011, Kilpin tied the Wauwatosa East School record with a jump of 6 feet, 8 inches in addition to winning the Greater Metro Conference indoor, Greater Metro Conference outdoor and the WIAA regional.
Kilpin was an outstanding volleyball player at East, playing three years of varsity volleyball and qualifying for state all three years.
"Max was one of the hardest working, most coachable athletes I have ever worked with," East track coach Jake Wolter said. "He is clearly a very deserving recruit."
