Angels 9, Yankees 3 - The Angels rotation of Reed Thompson, David Kopriva, Abe Murphy, Spencer Whitlock and Tyler Kaiser helped hold their Yankee opponents to record their first victory. Will Baran, Jason Flynn and Whitlock each had a double. Thompson, Kopriva, Baran, Whitlock, Kaiser and Flynn all contributed singles. Nick Bartholf, Carter Crouch and Murphy walked. Baran amazed the crowd with a fly-out catch and a throw to Frank Fee at first making a double play on an all-too-eager Yankee runner.

Orioles 8, Tigers 2 - The Orioles opened the season on a strong note, notching a solid win against a feisty Tigers team. Oriole pitching was outstanding as Jamey Squier, Tyler White, Taylor Williams, Oliver Clausen, Carson Dodge and Michael Erickson combined to strike out 16 Tigers through seven innings. David Yanny sparked the offense by scoring the first run of the season in the fourth inning. Logan Reimer followed up later that same inning with a two-run home run. After some great hustle plays to plate a few more runs in the sixth inning, Jamey Squier capped off the game by hitting a solo homer in the seventh.
